The winners of the Korg Inc. Monomania contest were announced on November 3rd at the KORG booth during the Tokyo Music Fair in Yokohama, Japan.
Nobuyoshi Sano from Detune, a.k.a sanodg, who is one of creators of KORG M01, hosted the awards ceremony.
Staff members from KORG Inc. who produced & engineered the monotron and the monotribe also attended the ceremony and judged the awards.

The sounds of the Japanese drums and flute coming from the monotron were well made; the Performance is also great, so we chose at the 1st place.

Using not only the knobs, but the speaker is an important part of the sound creation in this piece.
The sound from the speaker is being recorded using a microphone, and not by line-recording.
This method reproduces the frog’s voice very efficiently.

It is an original song and the quality is very good. This song brought out the monotron’s natural behavior as a “gadget tool.”
Covering and uncovering the speaker produces an effect similar to that of a Wah pedal. It is very interesting idea.
