Comment from KORG Inc’s Chief Engineer of monotron and monotribe: : Despite the comical theme and seemingly simple production, some close listening reveals very clever use of monotron's features. The footsteps on the panda's entrance were particularly impressive; created by maxing out the pitch mod intensity so the VCO is almost inaudible leaving the residual analog noise for the filter resonance to work on. The work of a monotron connoisseur using the simplest of means.

Comment from KORG Inc’s Chief Engineer of monotron and monotribe: : A striking 90 part reconstruction of the symphony in its full orchestration. The work deserves praise not only for the painstaking recording, but also the choice of timbre and fullest use of monotron's tonal palette. The tone for each part has been carefully tuned to match the instrument and impressive dynamics are achieved despite the lack of an envelope generator. Another key point to commend is the use of little or no effects, just track upon track of raw monotron to create such a dynamic and emotional piece. A very rewarding listen.

Comment from KORG Inc’s Chief Engineer of monotron and monotribe: : The monotribe is used more as a production tool than a live groove box. The magic in this piece is that the resulting sound is uniquely and definitely that of the monotribe, but the ambience and mood is that of the artist. Synth kicks using filter resonance is topped by tightly splattered analog snare and hi-hats. The saw bass is filtered by manually controlled cutoff. An excellent combination of live playing, after edits and some basic effects. Dark and intriguing. Also good to see a video shot on location.
